The Man by One Hit Wonder eJuice Review

Today we have a truly unique e-liquid that has found incredible success amongst the dessert e-liquids in the industry: The Man by One Hit Wonder. This e-liquid boasts the classic flavor of freshly picked strawberries and rich creamy milk. Strawberry milk has long been a vape flavor favorite and has been crafted by countless brands over the past few years. The Man eJuice was first introduced over six years ago and has been one of their most popular flavors. Let’s check out this veteran e-juice and see how this classic flavor tastes in cloud form!

THE UNBOXING

Oddly enough, One Hit Wonder has quite an impressive selection of both fruit and dessert vape juices. Several vapers praise their entire lineup highly, so the phrase “one hit wonder” certainly doesn’t apply to this brand! One Hit Wonder is one of the few brands to offer military discounts, sponsorship opportunities, and lab results on their website. They list their price as $24.99 for The Man, but we offer it on our site for an even cheaper $14.99 for even bigger savings!

The 100mL bottle comes in a colorful pink box that is made from thin cardboard. The box and bottle label all have the same information, with one exception: the official flavor description is listed boldly on the right side of the box in large white letters. I would have liked to see this on the bottle instead of the box, since the box is often thrown away after opening, but it was still awesome to know the flavor on the box instead of guessing or trying to remember. The company name is prominently displayed at the top of the box and the bottle label, with the e-liquid name clearly marked in bold letters right in the center. A large text box at the bottom of the box label (both front and back) states that this product contains nicotine and nicotine is an addictive chemical.

The back of the box had the name of the e-liquid (The Man) listed again, as well as the bottle size (100mL), nicotine content (3mg), and the VG/PG ratio (80/20). The bottle size was housed in a silhouette that looked like a full glass of milk, while the nicotine content was listed on a background in the shape of a strawberry. I thought this marketing was really cute and it helped remind the user of the flavor profile. There were customer warnings (keeping the product away from children), age and sale location restrictions, and manufacturing information. The ingredient list also had the nicotine content and VG/PG ratio listed, making this an incredibly descriptive and professionally designed label. Lastly, the batch number and expiration date were clearly stamped in blue ink on the underside of the bottle, allowing you see the recommended shelf life of the e-liquid.

One thing that I was extremely confused about was the wording “nicotine salts” and “TruNic 2.0” that were listed on both the bottle’s label and the box. Nic-salts are commonly used in pod systems and produce a strong throat hit (similar to cigarette nicotine content) that is suitable for former smokers. However, the company specifies that while the e-liquid does utilize nicotine salts, they’re not “high nicotine salts” and shouldn’t be used in a pod system. The use of nicotine salts in this free-base nicotine is to provide a stronger more satisfying throat hit to be used in sub-ohm devices. You can read more about what nicotine salts are in one of our previous articles, but rest assured that this 100mL bottle of e-liquid can be used safely in your sub-ohm device, at whatever nicotine content you choose. Now that we’ve gone over the unboxing, let’s check out The Fill-Up section of this review!

THE FILL UP

As stated in the unboxing, The Man by One Hit Wonder comes in a 100mL chubby gorilla bottle. The childproof cap was easy to unscrew and the fill-tip was slender for easy insertion into my tank’s fill port. However, I did note that I had to exert some force when squeezing the sides of the bottle. This happens occasionally with the thicker plastic of 100mL chubby gorilla bottles, so be careful not to squeeze too hard as the pressure can cause the bottle’s fill tip to pop off completely!

The clear bottle that was easy to see the e-liquid’s consistency, color, and amount left. I liked that the bottle’s label edges were placed far enough apart to see exactly the amount of liquid left, which is very useful when realizing you need to buy more! The e-liquid was very translucent with a tinge of yellow, due to the 3mg of nicotine. The consistency was a good mix of being not too thick (where it would clog the coils) and not too thin (where it would burn the cotton), more of a light sludginess.

I held the bottle to my nose to detect the scent of the e-liquid, squeezing lightly to let the scent waft towards me. My nostrils were filled with the heavenly scent of sweet summer strawberries and the unmistakable creamy scent of the milk. If you’ve ever had a strawberry milkshake from Hershey’s syrup, you’ll know exactly the scent I’m talking about! I was very pleased with the strong and sticky sweet scent and couldn’t wait to see how the actual e-liquid tasted in cloud form. Due to how delicious this e-liquid smells, I must warn you not to taste the raw e-liquid as ingesting vape juice can have detrimental side effects. And now, without further ado, let’s check out the actual Taste Test and see if the scent is the same as the taste!

THE TASTE TEST

Strawberries and cream e-liquids are a classic favorite amongst vapers, and are usually met with great success. I took my first hit of The Man eJuice and it was everything I’d hoped it would be! The inhale was a warm sweetness with a hint of fresh strawberries. The exhale was smooth and creamy, with a much stronger strawberry flavor. The flavor had the distinct thickness that comes with dessert flavors and it was a lovely flavor to both inhale and exhale. The entire cloud was full of flavor that was rich and sweet, and it was a true delight to vape throughout the entire day. I’d recommend this flavor as a pairing with your morning coffee, as the creaminess pairs wonderfully with the sweet fruit. The re-inhalation of the clouds through my nostrils definitely had a stronger strawberry scent and a light creamy finish.

I loved that the flavor lasted for every hit and didn’t grow stale or bland. It wasn’t an exciting flavor, but it was calming and authentic. The strawberry was smooth and the milk was creamy, everything as it should be. The throat hit was damn near perfect, as it was smooth in the beginning and ramped up intensity for the next few seconds. There was a light strawberry aftertaste that lingered on my tongue, which was wonderfully pleasant. I ended up filling up my tank several times throughout the next few days because of its sweet and calming flavor.

I will say that it was a little tough to fall in love with this flavor because of the simplicity of the flavorings. The strawberry was sweet and the milk was creamy, but it wasn’t anything to go “wow” about. It was a classic flavor that’s simply been remade and perfected. Don’t get me wrong; I appreciated the spot-on flavor of the fruit and milk. But as it’s been done by so many other brands, it was difficult to truly brag about the flavor as it’s been a popular flavor for several years. I will say that if you’re fond of The Milkman e-liquids, The Man is almost identical in flavor. I was definitely pleased with this flavor and I loved having it in my tank. The simplicity is the selling point and since it only has two flavors (strawberries and cream), it’s easy to detect exactly what the flavor is even before you’ve read the description.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I was very pleased with the packaging, scent, and flavor of the vape juice. While this is simply another brand’s rendition of a classic flavor, it was very well done. The flavor was smooth and sweet, with milk and strawberries being immediately identifiable in the first puff. I loved that the strawberry flavor wasn’t bland and that the creamy taste was smooth and pure. This truly was an excellent vape juice that was a delight to have in my tank.

Overall, I’d rate it a 9 out of 10. The phrase “nicotine salts” on a freebase nicotine e-liquid was confusing at first, and I truly hope that nobody tries to use this on a pod device. There wasn’t any insane “wow factor” like some of the fruit and cream e-liquids I’ve tried, but if you’re looking for perfected simplicity, you’ll fall in love with this e-juice again and again.
