Vaping 101: 3 Ways to Prevent a Burnt Coil

Vaping can be described as a luxurious experience compared to smoking cigarettes. But, hitting a burnt coil can make you want to throw it away just as you did that last pack of smokes. Have no fear, there is a reason for it and you can easily prevent it.

If you've never hit a burnt coil before, you cannot ostensibly know how disgusting it tastes. And it's an undeniable effect of novice vaping.

If you've ever had a burnt coil and don't know what to do to prevent it from happening again, then you're in the right place. In this article, we're discussing some key elements to vaping that will help you. Keep reading to learn more.

Here's How to Prevent a Burnt Coil

Of course, the obvious thing to do with a burnt coil is to change it right away. You should plan to change your coils anywhere from once per week to once per month depending on your setup. This will help prevent burning out your coils, first and foremost.

Otherwise, there are a few tips to keep in mind when it comes to maintaining your coils.

Prime Your Coils

If your new coil tastes burnt, it's probably because you didn't prime it. If you don't know how long to prime a coil, follow the guidelines instructed with your coils and/or your mod and tank set.

Typically, you can pull on a new coil about five or six times without hitting the fire button. Then let it sit for about five minutes before using it.

Don't hit it at the highest voltage at first. Instead, gradually work your way up to your desired setting over the course of about an hour.

Choose High PG eJuice

When choosing eJuice, it's important to look at the VG/PG content. VG stands for Vegetable Glycerin and PG stands for Propylene Glycol. A higher PG is less destructive on your coils and should make them last longer.

Use eJuice With Less Sweetener

If you're changing your coil regularly or even more often than you think should be necessary, and your vape tastes burnt, it could still be your eJuice. Some flavored eJuices contain sweeteners which can clog up your coils and cause them to burn out faster. At very least, choose flavored eJuice liquids that are lighter in color.

Final Thoughts

As an aside, you should also consider how much and how often you're vaping. Chain vaping will quickly lead to a burnt coil, as well as a higher power setting. Turn your voltage down a bit to get longer lasting coils. You can also opt for temperature control mods for ultimate protection.

Don't let your tank get too low on eJuice either. The less liquid that is in your tank, the harder your coil is having to work in order to deliver your fresh vape.
