Massachusetts Issues Ban on All Vape Products

Massachusetts Issues Ban on All Vape Products

On Tuesday, Massachusetts Governor Charles Baker announced a "public health emergency" and issued an "emergency" four-month ban on all vape products.

Unlike New York and Michigan, Baker's ban is not limited to flavored e-cigarette products but all vape products, which includes devices and any flavored or non-flavored eliquids that contain nicotine or marijuana.

In his statement, Baker claimed that the Massachusettes government needed to "pause sales in order for our medical experts to collect more information about what is driving these life-threatening vaping-related illnesses."

According to MassLive.com, a popular Massachusettes news platform, the Massachusetts Public Health Council unanimously approved the ban and it will go into effect immediately.

While the state's public health officials claim that they have received 61 cases of "vaping-related illness" in Massachusetts, the CDC has yet to identify the exact cause of these illnesses, let alone any evidence that confirms vaping is the cause.

While these ill-supported vape bans continue to spread like a witch hunt, vapers affected by these bans are facing difficult times. Most vapers rely on e-cigarettes as their only realistic alternative to smoking and some have actively vaped for more than a decade. Vaping is more than an activity or a lifestyle, it's part of who people are and the impact these vape bans will have on many vapers can be devastating.

As politicians in opposition to vaping prepare to push for the permanent ban of flavored vape products, and vape products altogether, it's crucial now more than ever to stand up and join the fight. Most of these politicians are making their decisions based on the actions of others or the false and limiting information that they're hearing from the media and big tobacco.

That said, it's important to not only stand up and fight for what you believe in but to give reason to our battle and educate those who are simply uninformed.

This industry is facing a big threat, but with the support of each vaper, there's no challenge this industry can't overcome. To find out how you can get involved and take action, check out the Call to Action resource centers below:

If you're a resident of New York, Michigan, or Massachusetts, our prayers go out to you. Keep your head up, the fights not over and every vaper is here fighting to stop these vape bans. If there's one thing we've learned over the years, it's that the vape industry can endure anything.

Smoker of 2 packs of newport/Marlboro menthol a dayfor 15 years. That’s ALOT of money that the tobacco companies AND state received just from me not to mention the millions of other people!! Heres the deal, back in the EARLY 90’s the tobacco companies got sued and agreed to pay 5% of all revenue to the states which of course is alot of money, ALSO alot of money the states are NOT getting anymore because everyone is switching or has switch to vaping. With all those people who were supposedly getting sick I do know they were using the thc black market pods that contained vitamin e which our lungs cant process. It’s all a bunch of crap, the tobacco companies and states are losing MASSIVE amounts of money because were not their slaves anymore so they are paying alot of money out to get people back on ciggs….its sad… one more thing, apparently theres a huge issue with flavors that attract kids right? Well what about swisher sweets peach, strawberry, berry, watermelon and all the other fruity flavors?? I’ll tell you, it’s no big deal ONLY because it’s a tobacco product sold by the tobacco companies which therefore profits go to , what’s that THE STATES!!! F these people, I bet they all got picked on in school! :)

BAN CIGARETTES!!!!!! Vape may not be great for your health, but how many years have we all been aware that cigs cause harm? 25 year smoker.

No government official has any rights to tell anyone what they can or cannot do. They aren’t in any position to tell anyone what they should or should do, buy or sell… I can promise one thing, these governors are insuring that their time in office is going to be cut short. Many people including myself will find something to smoke legal or illegal & they are to blame for putting folks in that position…

I’ve been vaping for over 5 years and QUIT cigarettes thanks to e- liquids and their flavors. I doubt these new health issues are related to anything I, as a regular vape consumer uses. Stop the ban. Find the real issue.

Kellie Baker - September 27, 2019

I’m a resident in California and I feel it’s just a matter of time before the ban hits here. I believe these illnesses and deaths are from people obtaining off market products. I hope the truth can be reported. We (vape consumers) need a voice. We need an independent study team on our side. I switched to vaping from cigarettes. So glad I did. The government isn’t getting their share of the profits therefore will pull anything to put their grip on vape consumers.

They want us to go back to smoking cigarettes. They’re missing all the tax dollars we had to give them before we switched over to vaping. Now everyone’s going to once again be concerned about second hand smoke.

If my words seem a bit vulgar it’s because it’s truly that aggravating. These are the type of braindead, idiotic, silver spoon eating, fucktards that seriously don’t give a single fuck about reading the facts. The same could be said about the same dumbasses who wanted to keep Marijuana illegal and not used as an alternative form of medicine. From what I saw the people who were affected by those long diseases mainly used a disposable pod system along with a THC pod bought on the black market also not to mention those individuals were not of age to buy said pod system. This bullshit ot claiming the object that caused damage has got to stop. To give an example could we for once as logical human beings quit blaming the gun in the bad guys hands for the shooting? When it’s not the guns fault but the one shooting at innocent people. Why blame the vaporizer when it’s the idiot who shouldn’t have it is the one at fault. Hell better yet put tax dollars to work and investigate where these black market vapes came from. These politicians find it easy to ban something then go through the process of figuring shit out. I’m pretty sure my braindead cry baby state is going to be the same. Fuck it I say this with no fear I’ll figure out a way to make my own flavors. Fuck the flavor ban and the idiots pushing for it. The flavor that got me started was a strawberry flavor got my ass off of smoking cigarettes and ruining my lungs. That’s all I need to say.

We are taking vaping products off the market with no proof and leaving tobacco products on the market with proof, vaping was the only thing I could find to quit smoking AND save a ton of money!

I am a Vape enthusiast from Michigan. Thanks for the info and fighting spirit. Wow, this is after all America, yet we have to fight to retain the freedom to choose. I have seen this coming unfortunately. In two words… Nanny State. Ugh!

Ron - September 27, 2019

Used to smoke 2 packs a day, been vaping for 6 years, no cigs, on a 3 nicotine level. Don’t want to have to smoke again. F these politicians that don’t know what they are talking about.
