Jam Monster Strawberry Custard Eliquid Review

Jam Monster is one of the most unique e-liquid companies in the industry, particularly for their e-juice flavor profiles. I still remember their Grap e Jam was the first vape juice I’d ever tried, and I could actually taste the butter and the jam together, which was astonishing. How do you even get a butter flavor into e-liquid that perfectly? However Jam Monster does it, they do it well. I’m also a huge fan of their Strawberry Jam eJuice, so it was a no brainer to check out the newest linup called Custard Monster. And as I’m sure you can guess, this is their custard line. I bought all three of their new flavors: Strawberry, Blueberry, and Vanilla, which we’ll be reviewing over the next few days. I’ll start out with the Strawberry Custard, as I was curious to see how it compared to their Strawberry Jam. Let’s check out the packaging first and then we’ll dive right into the actual flavor test, the part you all are waiting for!

THE UNBOXING

One of my favorite things about the Jam Monster packaging was how they listed all the e-liquid flavorings and percentages right on the box. Custard Monster follows the same design, with custard making up a whopping 75% and the strawberry a smooth 25%. The VG/PG ratio is also 75/25, a slight variation from the normal 70/30. The ingredients are listed neatly on the right side of the box, along with a warning label and an age requirement. The back of the box advertises the other custard flavors (blueberry and vanilla) which we’ll be reviewing in future articles. On the right side of the box, it showcases all of the Monster lineupes, including Jam Monster, Fruit Monster, Ice Monster, and Tobacco Monster. I believe I have some Jam and Ice Monster e-liquids lying around, so I’ll try to upload those as well later down the line.

The packaging for the Custard Monster e-liquids were bright and extremely well done, thanks to the playful colors and well-written descriptions littered throughout the pages. And the large warning label on how nicotine is an addictive chemical was boldly displayed on both the front and the back of the box. Lastly, the bottle is a 100mL and comes in either 0m, 3mg, or 6mg (I have the 3mg version). Now that we’ve gone over the packaging, let’s check out the e-liquid itself!

THE FILL UP

The 100mL bottle comes with a child-proof cap that was easily unscrewed. The slender drip tip made is easy to fill up my tank all the way with literally no mess. When I held the drip tip to my nose, my nostrils were ambushed by a strong scent of thick custard. The strawberry scent was detected right at the end, a sweet and juicy scent that I couldn’t wait to try. The ingredient list was definitely spot on, as the 75% custard was the dominant scent, but the strawberry scent was a delightful finisher.

I noticed that even though the bright red label covered nearly all of the bottle, I was still able to easily see the amount of e-liquid left in the bottle. I could also see the color and consistency of the e-juice. The juice had a reddish tinge to it, similar to apple juice. The consistency was a similar consistency to olive oil, very fluid but not watery. Dessert flavors have a tendency to clog and kill your coil, but this one seemed like it could withstand multiple fill ups without being a coil murderer. I did notice that the e-liquid was able to slosh around easier after it had gotten heated by the coils upon firing up the atomizer. Now that we've gone over the unboxing and the fill-up, it’s time for the piece de resistance...the taste test!

THE TASTE TEST

On the website, Strawberry Custard is described as having a strawberry and vanilla flavor, as well as the rich custard taste. I took my first hit and was delighted with the richness of the flavor. The flavor inhale was very smooth and custard flavored, while the exhale was a ripe strawberry that was warm and sweet. I didn’t really taste any vanilla, but there was a creaminess that isn’t usually present in a lot of the custard/dessert flavors I taste. The scent of the clouds wasn’t overpowering and was a delight for passerby to smell. I’m not even that big a fan of custard/dessert flavors but I couldn’t get enough of this flavor. Maybe because the strawberry taste was as sweet as an actual fruit flavor, and the custard was truly a treat.

I rate this a 9 out of 10, only because I couldn’t detect any vanilla as the strawberry was quite strong.. If you’ve ever had Milkman eLiquids, this tastes just like the Original eLiquid. The clouds were strong and full of strawberry custard flavor, which is wonderful as a lot of clouds don’t always smell as the flavor is described. Even though the VG/PG ratio was slightly different, I enjoyed this flavor immensely and was blown away by the refreshing taste of strawberries and custard. Even if you’re not that big a fan of custard/dessert flavors, I highly recommend this e-juice and strongly urge you to sample it for yourself! I am confident that this isn’t a one-hit wonder with the Custard Monster lineup and I can’t wait to try the blueberry and the vanilla e-juices!

FINAL THOUGHTS

As an avid lover of sweet and strong flavors, I was truly delighted with Monster Lab's Strawberry Custard by Custard Monster. I’m usually hesitant to try custard and dessert flavors because of the cloying custard taste; but this e-liquid was so tasty, I had no problem using this flavor for several consecutive fillups! While every vaper’s taste buds are subjective, I couldn’t find anything wrong with this flavor. The master chemists at Monster Labs have done a remarkable job with Strawberry Custard and I look forward to checking out Blueberry Custard in my next review. This vape juice packs a monster of flavor in every cloud, and I have no problem referring this flavor to vapers of all flavor profiles. The packaging was playful and fun, with whole strawberries wrapped up in a splash of custard. I honestly didn’t expect to like this flavor so much, but I’m so glad I took a step out of my comfort zone and tried this flavor.
