And once you know what flavor to expect, the name is actually kind of funny! We’ll be checking out the unboxing, the fillup, and the taste test in this review so as soon as you’ve gotten over the nauseating nostalgia of spoiled milk, go ahead and read through this intriguing e-liquid review!
THE UNBOXING
Spoiled Milk eJuice is one of the four e-liquids of the brand Strange Fruit . Strange Fruit is actually produced by a brand you may have heard of...Puff Labs Inc. We carry several of Puff Labs Inc. eLiquids, including Psycho eLiquids and Circus eLiquids , so we’ll be reviewing some of those brands as well in the near future. But for now, let’s check out the immediate e-liquid novelty we have today.
The 100mL chubby gorilla bottle is a black plastic. Because of this, I wasn’t able to see the e-liquid color, consistency, or amount left in the bottle. However, I’ve learned from past experiences that this is to protect the clear e-liquid within from expiring sooner and oxidizing into an unattractive brown mess. We’ll see if this is the case when it comes to the fillup! The label was amusing to observe as it was a silver label with a slime green splotch dead center. The brand name was listed in haunting purple and white font, with the nicotine content (3mg) listed slightly off to the right.
The parent brand “Puff Labs” was listed in the top left-hand corner, and the e-liquid name was spelled out in bubble letters near the bottom of the label. Listed on the very bottom of the label was a banner that proclaimed that nicotine was an addictive chemical and that this product contained it. On the far right of the label were all the liquid facts: nicotine content, bottle size, ingredient list, manufacturing information, and various disclaimers. Listed on the far left of the label was the intended use of the product and the standard warnings for e-liquids.
The expiration date was marked clearly on the bottom of the bottle, along with what I assumed was the batch number. The entire label had a very Halloween theme, which I thought was perfect since we’re only a few weeks away from the actual holiday. I was a little annoyed that the VG/PG ratio wasn’t listed anywhere on the bottle, but a quick check on the company website displayed that the bottle was an 80/20 VG/PG ratio. I strongly suggest you check out the company website to see how hilarious their product descriptions are (hint: it’s a mini story). While on the company site, I noted that the cost of Spoiled Milk eJuice was $19.99, but you can get it for cheaper here on our site for only $14.99. Now that we’ve gone over the label, let’s get one step closer to the taste test! Here we go with the fillup part of the review!
THE FILL UP
The dark plastic bottle came with a childproof cap, but a quick twist in my experienced hands had it open in no time. I observed the slim fill-tip was thin enough to be inserted into my fill port of my tank and I began to fill my tank. I had a sneaking suspicion that the e-liquid would be clear, given the dark plastic bottle. My suspicions turned out to be correct as I filled up my tank. Clear e-liquid flowed quickly into my tank, and I noted that the consistency was a little watery (which was unusual for a dessert e-liquid). Once in my tank, the consistency changed slightly to be slightly thicker. But due to the extreme clarity of the e-liquid, I doubted I’d have an issue with clogged coils.
I held the bottle to my nose to detect the scent of the liquid. Fun fact: I didn’t actually read the description for what flavor Spoiled Milk was supposed to taste like. I wanted to see if my nose could accurately figure out what the flavor would be. I correctly guess that key lime pie was the flavor, due to the strong scent of lime custard that immediately assaulted my nostrils. With the flavor now firmly stamped in my brain, I was curious to see how the actual clouds would taste once I took my first hit. Which brings us to the highly anticipated part of this review: the taste test!
THE TASTE TEST
Again, I know the name is a bit of a turn-off, because at some point we’ve all tasted spoiled milk and been repulsed by it. The company website describes this e-liquid as a “key lime pie milkshake” which explains the reference to spoiled milk (a key lime pie milkshake would indeed look green and rotten if you didn’t know what it was). Since the e-liquid did smell like key lime pie, I was a little nervous to try it for the first time. But I put aside my fears and bravely took my first puff. I was blown away by the strong key lime flavor and was delighted at the thickness of the actual clouds. I actually ended up coughing a few times because the flavor was very strong and the thickness of the flavor was very unexpected. But once I grew more accustomed to the thick key lime flavor, I actually liked it! The inhale immediately has the tart flavor of the key lime, whereas the exhale has more of the creaminess of the pie flavor.
I tasted an underlying flavor that could have been the smoothness of the pie or the graham cracker crust. The graham crackers were also noticeable in the exhale, but I noticed that the flavor was the strongest on the inhale. The exhale had more of a bland flavor that tasted like nothing, and I found myself taking multiple hits just to get that strong inhale and beginning of the exhale flavor. The nicotine was smooth and delivered a soft throat hit, but I really believe the thickness of the flavor is what had me coughing in the beginning.
The nicotine didn’t burn my throat and I felt the flavor coat my throat on the back of my tongue. For some reason, this e-liquid also seemed to give off a much larger amount of clouds than the other dessert e-liquids I’ve tried. Even though this is an 80/20 blend, I really appreciated the strong flavor that resonated throughout the entire inhale and part of the exhale. I believe the reason the flavor tapered off at the end was due to the VG/PG ratio being 80/20, but I did in fact vape two tankfuls of this flavor.
Granted, this is a unique flavor that you really have to be a fan of. If you’re craving the actual dessert, this flavor really is spot-on. Nothing about this e-juice tasted fake or overly artificial and I enjoyed the first two tankfuls immensely. But since I’m not a huge fan of key lime pie, I’ll probably use this flavor sparingly or if i’m looking for a change in my usual fruit and custard e-liquids. I did vape this flavor all-day, but I was looking forward to a change after the second tank. Nothing against the flavor, as it didn’t get boring after the first few hits or lose it’s potent flavor after multiple tanks. This was just something that I’d have to be in the mood to vape for consecutive tank refills.
I’d rate this flavor as an 8. I didn’t like that the flavor tapered off on the exhale, and the dark bottle was frustrating to not see the color, texture, or amount remaining. But the flavor was excellent on the inhale (which is rare in a dessert e-liquid) and tasty on the exhale right up until the last few seconds. My fears of having a boring vape juice were unfounded and this really was a unique e-liquid in name, flavor, and cloud production.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I was very curious and a bit apprehensive to try this e-liquid flavor. Spoiled milk isn’t really something you want as an e-liquid flavor. But once I overcame the reverse psychology, I was surprised at how tasty this e-liquid was! I know that some e-liquid brands like to mess with your expectations. Instead of calling it by the delicious dessert it’s made after, they make you wrinkle your nose in disgust and psych you out until you actually try it. I think the novelty of this flavor was the best part of the e-juice. I would have been much less inclined to try a flavor called “key lime pie milkshake,” but who can resist an e-liquid called “Spoiled Milk”? There’s another e-liquid made by Strange Fruit called Rotten Candy , so maybe I’ll try that next to see if that’s as good as Spoiled Milk eJuice.
